Slimina Capsules and my ongoing journey to lose weight

My quest to lose weight has led me to try a new slimming capsules.  These slimming capsules have been recommended to me by my then twenty-one-year-old daughter who claimed that her friends who were obese and or nearing obese lost weight from taking this slimming capsules.

And so I purchased one bottle from online in Lazada PH since they have an option of COD (Cash on Delivery) but I believe you can purchase Slimina directly from their dealer  Magic Potions website. That way you can be sure that you are buying the authentic Slimina and not a fake. I paid more or less Php1200 for one bottle of Slimina.  A bottle contains 30 capsules and is good for 30 days to be taken 1 capsule 15download to 30 minutes before breakfast.  I started taking mine April of last year. And it really did help me with managing my weight.  I was 82 kgs. when I started but after just a month of taking the capsules and with a little diet, I weighed 69.5 kgs when I weighed myself after taking the last capsule in the bottle. Folks, I’m not paid to say this (although I wish I had since I am writing good stuff about their product 😉 ) but the capsules really did make me lost weight.  It did making the dieting easier since apparently taking this lessens your craving for food.  At least mine did.

I won’t go into details of the ingredients since you can research them online but Slimina claims to have pure herbal ingredients which are probably better than other slimming pills and capsules that contain some illegal drugs to help repress the appetite.  Anyhoo, the bottom line was that I lost a lot of weight from then on.

I don’t take them every month, though, just to be cautious.  I let my liver and kidneys and other organs rest for a month or couple of months from taking Slimina.  Also, what I have discovered is that, somehow, when I take slimina for consecutive months like I did after my first bottle, I got immune to the slimina.  My appetite gotdownload-1 back to normal although I didn’t gain weight significantly even if I pig out while taking the capsules, I decided to skip a month before starting on another bottle.  It’s good for my pocket too. The downside I felt while taking Slimina is getting a dry mouth. Drinking lots of water is a must. There are some side effects others have reported but this is the only side effect I experienced.  It is also a must to consult a doctor, especially if you’re suffering from ailments and taking medicines.

By the way, I also have reviews on other over the counter slimming pills and weight loss management brands like  Fitrum and Optrimax Plum Delite Review.

I’ll be updating this review with before and after photos.  I am still chubby, mind you, but not as huge as I was before. And until now, even with taking Slimina, I am still trying to manage my weight. Diet and exercise are still the best way to achieve them, and I’m working on my self-discipline to follow through with a better and healthy regimen.

Vaginoplasty and labiaplasty: from someone who’d actually done it

I confess I did it. And I did it for what others may perceive to be shallow reasons. It proved to be the best decision I made last year and never regretted it for a minute.

Folks, I got five kids. Yes, FIVE! That’s how many they are. The last one was born through Caesarean Section. It wasn’t for lack of trying to push my baby out, though. My one and the only boy got his umbilical cord around his foot and leg and he was curled the wrong way; and so every time I tried to push him out, he went back in. And I was getting older at 36 and didn’t have it in me to push some more. I guess my age just got me on this one hence the CS. The point is that although I may have four (still quite a lot) vaginal births, I had also strained my muscle walls from attempting a vaginal birth of my son. And I must admit that aging, multiple vaginal births(no matter that your OB patched you up real good after) and lots of sex throughout your married life ultimately affect and weaken and changed my vagina appearance. Yeah, I know about Kegel exercises, I’ve been doing the exercises since in my twenties until today. Well, it does help tighten those love muscles up but it doesn’t help much with the appearance, does it?

So on February of 2014, I had a laser vaginoplasty. The first time I had sex after the prescribed weeks of no sexual contact was more painful than enjoyable. And there were particular sex positions that were really impossible to do because it hurt like hell. It was like that for a couple of months more. But eventually, man oh man, was the sex getting good. I know, even if my husband didn’t admit wanting me to undergo that surgery, he was and is, enjoying our sex way more than he did prior.

Yes, the procedure is quite pricey, but if you really want something, you’ll find a way to get it done.  I was lucky that I availed of some sort of promo discount of a certain cosmetic surgeon in my country. And I really set aside some money for it too.

I may not have a beautiful body and youth on my side anymore, but the confident sexuality that the vaginoplasty has given me, and years of experience is incomparable. I am way more confident in my femininity and my sexuality now at forty with five children than I ever was before in my early twenties. And you can bet your ass, my husband is reaping and enjoying the fruits of that confidence more so now than he had before.

FITRUM REVIEW

Fitrum Capsules

The holidays had come and gone, I am now back again to this endless search for an effective weight control management to complement my on and off diet and exercise. I have tried dieting and exercise but this stubborn metabolism of mine seems to need a little more push. I had been sweating my ass off the first three-quarters of last year with me jogging every other day and watching my calorie intake and did I lose weight? Of coursecI did! I lost just over 2 kgs. for my nine months of sweat and depriving myself of carbs.

So now after many months of trying weight management aids that failed, I am going to to try yet another one. I just took my first Fitrum capsules little over thirty minutes ago and will be taking my breakfast now. I just bought a 30-capsule box and I’m supposed to take 3 capsules a day 30 minutes before meal and to preferably take them before 4PM (for optimal effectiveness, I think).

I’ll be updating my blog all throughout the course of my taking the Fitrum capsules.

Update:

No visible changes whatsoever.

My personal take on Charlene Harris’ Real Murders series

So I’ve just finished reading Charlaine Harris’ Real Murders.  Technically reading, anyway.  I don’t do much literal reading nowadays since I don’t have time for such luxury and my myopic eyes seem to be more myopic every time I visit my optometrist (which is an average of 2x a year, by the way). What I actually do is, I listen to audiobooks.  I found it pretty convenient since I am mostly out my house every day, anywisay. And it so just helps me be in the mood to do chores while washing dishes or sweeping the floor, or doing laundry. It helps me get through my most tedious and monotonous housework. When I’m out, I just connect my phone to my earbuds, popped them in my ear, open my audio book app, and I can listen to the current book I am into or connect it to my good ole reliable JBL Bluetooth speaker, up the volume, open my audio book app and press play when I’m at home.

Back to the book Real Murders. What immediately struck me while reading the book now was how inconvenient it was for Aurora to not have a mobile phone.   The book was written in the early 1990s and I just couldn’t help thinking about how useful a cell phone was, if Aurora Teagarden, the main character of the book (and the whole series) owned one. Well, that’s what popped into my mind whenever I “read” the parts where she saw a dead body, or a bloody hatchet or just whenever she needed to call for help. On the whole, Real Murders is a good murder mystery to read.  It also managed to keep me guessing on who amongst the Real Murders Club members was the actual murderer. This book also made references to real murders and true crimes (thus the title, Real Murders) which I previously didn’t have any interest in, and didn’t have any knowledge of; but thanks to this book, I actually learned some things real murders related. So I credit this book for additional knowledge and trivia now stored in my own “knowledge bank” because I rarely read non-fiction or textbooks (sad but true and a weakness of mine)  I find that they are almost always boring. So I just loved it when not only can I enjoy the pleasure of being transported to different worlds and different places, I can also learn some things during those “travels.”

My reason behind reading the Aurora Teagarden’s series is because it’s from Charlaine Harris.  She is one of my favorite authors. I am a Charlaine Harris fan.  I loved her Southern Vampires: Sookie Stackhouse series. I’ve read each one of them, novellas and all. I watched True Blood on HBO but they lost me somewhere between season 4 or 5.  Too many changes from the book and I absolutely prefer the twists and turns of the books most of the time to that of the tv show. And that was the end of my True Blood “affair.”   I found that most often than not,  I can’t appreciate the small or big screen version of books. I would always find that digressing from the original plots are always poor substitutes to the original stories.  Unless of course, the authors are the screenwriters of the stories. I don’t know why. It’s probably because when authors are screenwriters, they manage to bring their own unique stamps and their own way of telling their stories to the big screen that make the viewers who are readers of their books less disconnected.

Okay, back to Real Murders again. 😀  I love that the main character, Aurora Teagarden is a librarian.   My favorite hangout when I was still in school was the library so librarians to me are the cool people in my book world.:) 🙂 🙂 But there was one part of the book though where I find Aurora Teagarden stupid.  It was when she let her six-year-old half-brother go out of the house alone to get his baseball bat which he left outside when it was almost dark.  I mean, what kind of stupid who reads real murders, who has just been involved with a series of murder investigations (even if someone already confessed to said murders), who knows the real danger of murders and crimes–allow a six-year-old child go alone (and even hands a flashlight to him??!!) to find a baseball bat when it’s getting dark??? While I grant that that part of the book right there is the start of the climax of the story, some subtle alterations could have been made so as to not let Aurora act so stupidly especially since she was portrayed as a smart, well-read, murder savvy librarian.  Other than that, the book was enjoyable and entertaining.

I am currently on the first few pages of the second Aurora Teagarden series, A Bone To Pick. I just know that if it’s a Charlaine Harris book, I’ll never get disappointed.

Oh, by the way, I followed Ms. Charlaine Harris’ on Facebook and Twitter and she just had an update on the upcoming new tv series for the Aurora Teagarden in Lifetime network soon.  There was a date given but I forgot when.

The Girl On The Train: Personal Review

It has been so long since my last book review, or even write any post for that matter.  My laptop got broken for the longest time and I find that I didn’t feel like typing up long sentences on a tab or mobile phone.  And although my laptop hasn’t been replaced yet, I decided to make do with the family’s desktop.

So on to my thoughts on The Girl On The Train, a book written by Paula Hawkins. I’ve read lots, and I mean, LOTS of fiction books that came out last year and even early this year, and so far, I haven’t read any book yet that surpasses this book as the best.  I like that the one who’s telling the story is from a flawed, and less than perfect person.  This very flaw–her state of drunkenness and blackouts– are what makes the unfolding of the story more suspenseful. There was a point while I was reading the book that I was like, oh I know who the killer is and only to find out later on that I was totally off-base. So I quit guessing and just let myself enjoy reading the book allowing the story to sweep me off according to its own pace.

The Girl On The Train is definitely one good book to read.  I just love it.  So two thumbs up for Ms. Paula Hawkins. 🙂

Terrible Smart & Smartbro Mobile Data Connections

It all started when I bought a Globe sim prepaid card. I loaded my tablet with 1-month worth of internet connection. (I loaded it with 1000 pesos worth of load then texted in caps SUPERSURF 999 sent it to 8888. Then you’ll receive a verification text of your 1-month prepaid subscription.) I had a steady internet connection, albeit a slow one. I found out that the area where I lived had a weak Globe connection. I can only get a semi-decent connection of H+ when my device is placed in my living room and barely a E and a one bar signal when in the bedroom.

When my 1-month of promo mobile data connection was up. I decided to switch to a Smart mobile sim card and again I loaded my Smart sim with a 1-month promo subscription like with what I did to my Globe. The signal was fine and everything.  I could even get a 3g and H+ signal in the bedroom. Unfortunately, those signals just didn’t reflect their actual performance and they were extremely erratic. How erratic? It’s like having a 3g signal reflected on the device and a “no internet connection”  reflected on a page you are trying to open. Anyway, half-way through my 1 month subscription, I couldn’t get a mobile data signal. I tried restarting my device, turning my mobile data off and on at intervals and even trying my sim to other devices. Still I got nothing. So I called the Smart toll free number about out it and they promised to get back to me within 24 hours. And even before the 24 hours was up, I got my mobile data signal back. And even with the snail-like and erratic signal, I stuck it out with Smart. It’s not like I can do anything about it since I am still subscribed for  a couple of weeks to Smart. And then less than a week after I got my mobile data back on track, I experienced again the same problem. I called Smart and they gave me a report reference number and promised to get back to me again after 24 hours. I waited for a day. And waited for another day. No mobile data. No feedback from Smart. I called Smart again and got their standard answer of waiting for 24 hours then gave me a new report reference number for my call. I waited for another 24 hours. So it was after three days that I realized my complaint wasn’t getting anywhere.

Then I caught myself thinking.  What if my Smart sim wasn’t working because I used it for internet and not for mobile calls. What if I should  buy their Smartbro. Their Smartbro is being marketed mainly for internet, right?  I should try the Smartbro. And so I did. Stupid me bought a new sim and loaded another 1000 pesos worth of load for my tablet and registered my load for a monthly internet promo again. I know I should have tried loading per day or per week but I honestly thought I could save money with a whole month subscription for 995 pesos compared to a 50-peso daily internet subscription or 300 pesos weekly. So I loaded my Smartbro for 30 days and like with my Smart, have signals as high as 3g but slow to nonexistent internet connections. I tried going to places where Smart boasts high 4g and LTE connections like La Paz here in Iloilo. Nada. Nothing. My mobile data shows connection of 3g(since my tablet is not 4g or LTE compatible), and should have had a decent internet connection. But no, I got zero connection. Thirteen days of unlimited internet connection down the drain.  I was robbed. Me, a regular, a mere nobody was screwed over by the biggest telecommunications in the Philippines. Again. And I know I would be wasting my time calling their helpline since I ‘ve already done that and nothing to show for it. Why would a telecommunication giant  listen to a single unknown and uninfluential customer right? I would be wasting my breath. Had in fact wasted my breath enough already.

So that is why today, I will be switching again to Globe. I may not get a strong signal from where I live but at least it is steady. At least it is honest with its signal. At least it doesn’t say 3g when the connection is close to nonexistent.

You might wonder why I don’t have a broadband connection at home when clearly I can afford one since what I pay for a monthly subscription of mobile data connection costs more or less the same with that of a broadband. I actually had a PLDT broadband connection but it got broken and reported it to PLDT, called and reported like 5x on ther helplines, visited their branch 3x but they didn’t act on it until my contract with them expired. On hindsight I should have known that Smart would screw me over. PLDT and Smart are sister companies so why should I expect the latter would be any better, right?

Postscript:
Do forgive me for my use of LTE, 4g, 3g, H, and E reference. I do not know their actual names or what they stand for. I only know of them to pertain kinds of internet speed based from what is reflected on my device and from what I see in ads. 🙂

Nu Skin/Pharmanex Lifepak’s Review

When I went home to Cebu City last week, my closest first cousin and I had dinner and coffee together and were catching up on news about our lives since we last saw each other. Anyways, during our coffee she told me about this new supplement she is taking. She spoke very highly of this product–Nu Skin/Pharmanex Lifepak and told me that our mutual friends who are also taking this supplement all look and feel great. And my cousin did really looked great.  So naturally, my interest was peaked. I want to try the product so I decided to google the product reviews especially that this particular product costs P3300(Philippine peso)  or roughly around $77 (US dollars) for a 30 day worth of food supplements.  To my dismay,  i didn’t find any review for this particular product. But despite of that, I went ahead and bought this food supplement anyway.  I mean, my cousin looked great and she swore of the product’s efficacy. She is a good enough review of the product for me anyway.

Pharmanex Lifepak Food Supplement

You're to take this 4 caps at the same time

The lack of review of this product made me decide to make a review myself. This is my 3rd day of taking the product and I can’t see or feel any changes in my state of wellbeing. I will be updating this blog after four days since I’ll be making an update every week for a month.

On my 5th day of taking Pharmanex Lifepak I had a severe allergic rhinitis. I’m not saying my taking these vits triggered the allergies I’m just noting that my taking the vitamins didn’t in any way lessen the effects of my allergic rhinitis.

Oct. 2 – Week 1

Today is my 9th day of taking the vitamins and I noticed that ever since I started taking them, I have regular bowel movement and I don’t feel as tired and sleepy as I did before taking the food supplements.

October 10 – Week 2

I don’t really have anything to tell. I can’t see any changes at all. I still look the same. My skin didn’t get any clearer and my appetite is still the same. I must say that I survived a whole week without taking puffs on my seretide inhaler without a severe asthma attack, just some minor ones like feeling slight congestion on my chest. (I was supposed to take seretide puffs 2x in the morning and 2x on the evenings everyday.)

More update next week 🙂

I finished my 1 pack of Lifepak supplements. Although I don’t feel and see any different at all, I must say that I didn’t suffer asthma attacks or some difficulty of breathing while taking this supplements. Considering that I’m not religious with my getting puffs on my maintenance of seretide everyday, I think that is some sort of achievement, and I’m giving credit to Lifepak’s food supplements. Other than my regular bowel movement and lessening of frequency with my recurrent yet sporadic asthma attacks, I can’t see or feel any major difference in my wellbeing and appearance. I mean for the money that I paid for it, I kind of expected more from the product. Like, I don’t know– a miracle, perhaps? Hehe It’s just that a regular, middle income person like me do not shell out this amount of money for just a “regular” food supplement. I had expected something more. My skin didn’t get any clearer and I didn’t look younger than I had hoped I would. This product is good–no doubt about it. But the question is, would I use it regularly? Yes, if I have the money to “maintain” a food supplement as costly as this one. All I’m saying is that this product is exactly what it is–a food supplement. But, there are many food supplements that are as effective but a lot less costlier than Lifepak’s. I am beginning to think that whilst it’s probably true my cousin is taking this food supplement, she is also taking something else that made her look great– a beauty secret that she didn’t share with me.
